Alvaro
Parente on pole position for race one at Knockhill
Portuguese
Alvaro Parente put his Dallara F305 Mugen-Honda on pole position
for Sunday’s first British F3 race at Knockhill.
The
Carlin Motorsport driver set a time of 46.923, which was only
0.086 seconds faster than second-placed Mike Conway’s
from Fortec Motorsport. Promatecme’s Stephen Kane came
third, with his best time of 47.079, in his Lola B05/30 Mugen-Honda.
Ryan
Lewis, who continuously improved the top times at the beginning
of the session, qualified in fourth place with a time of 47.124.
Charlie
Hollings snatched his fourth pole in a row in the National
Class, setting a time of 47.506. Leader in the National Class,
Barton Mawer (T-Sport) finished in second place, followed
by Juho Annala from Alan Docking Racing coming third.
The
session was briefly red-flagged after the cars of Carlin Motorsport’s
Ricardo Teixeira and Salvador Duran (P1 Motorsport) had to
be recovered from the Scotsman Corner, after both spun into
the gravel. The two cars suffered front suspension damage
as a result.
The
second qualifying will take place on Saturday afternoon at
14:30 hours.
