Mikola again fastest on day two of Batangas test – Mar 20 05

The Fastron Racing Team fitted new tyres at the end of the day to their Dallara 304 Nissan and Mikola banged out a string of sub 1m 24 second laps, finishing with an impressive 1m 23.29 time. “The car and engine is great, I am sure a 1m 22 can be done” reported Mikola.

John O’Hara continued to struggle with wayward handling on his TOM’S Asia Dallara 302/4 car, struggling to break the 1m 26 second lap marker. Mikola allowed O’Hara to drive his car for a few laps, the Irishman immediately working down to a 1m 24.0. The TOM’S team are now working on the root of the problem with O’Hara’s car.

Dado Pena posted a 1m 24.4 lap his Team Goddard – Minardi Team Asia Dallara 301 TOM’S. The time was set in the hot mid day sun and at that point it was identical to the fastest time set by Mikola. A broken gear curtailed his running and he was unable to venture out when the track was at it’s fastest. The team will continue testing tomorrow, Monday.

Tyson Sy gave the day a miss, preferring to return on Tuesday of this week.
